DaBaby was reportedly detained for alleged misdemeanor marijuana possession in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident reportedly took place in the parking lot outside of Bojangles arena following his homecoming concert. At the moment, it is unclear if he was fined or officially charged with a crime.
Shortly after being released from police custody, the North Carolina native gave fans an update about his current legal situation. He said, “They follow me, they pull us over for no reason, they search our cars.”
The Grammy nominee went on to allege that law enforcement targeted him and unlawfully searched his vehicle. However, local law enforcement has yet to issue a statement in response to the musician’s claims.
Moving forward, DaBaby will close out his incredible 2019 run with a show at STORY Nightclub in Miami, Florida on New Year’s Eve.
