The Cleveland Cavaliers have seen themselves lose some head-scratching games. With losses to the Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, and Indiana Pacers, the Cavs have had looked a step slow to begin the season.
Every team in the eastern conference has its sights set on taking down the prohibitive favorites. To this point, Cleveland has failed to live up to its billing.
Whether that has to do with roster chemistry or age of the roster — Cleveland has one of the oldest rosters in the league — remains a mystery.
Earlier this week, the team met to have an open discussion on ways to right the ship. Among the apparent issues the Cavs demonstrate on the court, LeBron James has cited the team’s lack of effort throughout the entire course of a basketball game.

Dwyane Wade, although new to the Cavalier organization has some interesting thoughts on a trend he sees from opponents. Wade thinks that the poor start in Cleveland has disarmed them in a way he hasn’t seen before.
Following from Dave McMenamin of ESPN,
“Ain’t nobody afraid,” Wade said. “Teams come in here to whip our butt and they’re whipping our butt. One thing I did notice at Miami, teams were afraid of us a little bit. Ain’t nobody afraid. Maybe at some point it will get there, but not right now. Everyone’s playing free, it’s early in the year, and everything’s going right for everybody but us. And we’ve got to figure it out.”
The Cavaliers have had to climb uphill so far in this young season. On Thursday, the team announced that center Tristan Thompson would be out a month recovering from a calf injury. However, history has shown that the Cavaliers will be in good shape, and should be able to solve this new dilemma.
