Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson put on a show against the Portland Trail Blazers. With the Warriors down 72-54 in the 3rd quarter with 7:15 left, all seemed gloomy for Golden State.
Then it happened.
Curry, who already had 22 points to start the 4th, exploded by adding another 15 all in the 4th. Not to be outdone, Klay Thompson — who played like utter trash in the first half; making 2 of 5 for a measly 4 points — found his patented shooting touch in the 2nd half which helped charge the Warriors back into the game. Thompson, who put up 23 points in the 2nd half, came up big by scoring 15 points in the 4th quarter to add the to the push.
And the cherry on top came when Klay Thompson hit the game-winner.
On the strength of Stephen Curry (37 pts, 5 asts) and Klay Thompson’s (27 pts) late game heroics the Warriors prevailed 113-112 over the Trail Blazers. Not to be forgotten is Damian Lillard‘s 26 points and 7 assists sided with Nicolas Batum putting 23 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists.
It was a great way to close out basketball heavy Sunday. Now let’s get ready for March Madness.
