Dallas Cowboys often are a team that often isn’t afraid to take a risk. They value the high-risk, high-reward players as we’ve seen in the past and most recently when they signed troubled defensive end Greg Hardy. In the 2015 NFL Draft, the Cowboys took another chance on a troubled but skilled pass rusher. Former Nebraska defensive end, Randy Gregory.
He failed a pre-draft drug test and a player who was once projected as a top 15 pick, fell to the second round. The Cowboys jumped at the opportunity to select Gregory with the 60th overall pick in the second round and in his first game against the New York Giants, Gregory showed his value.
Gregory was on the field for 21 of 38 defensive snaps and was having a very nice game before his injury. He had yet to record a sack, but he beat fellow rookie Ereck Flowers on the edge a few times and was helping get some pressure on Giants quarterback Eli Manning.
Unfortunately for the Cowboys, they are still without Hardy who has three games remaining from his four game suspension, they won’t have two big-time pass rushers for a little bit longer.

Randy Gregory has a high ankle sprain. That is usually four to six weeks
