Demarcus Cousins returned to the Kings starting lineup thursday night after missing the previous ten games to an illness and casually dropped 27 points and 11 rebounds against the Bucks.
However he missed the most important shot of the night, a 20 foot jump shot from the right-wing at the end of regulation which let the Bucks escape Sacramento with a 108-107 win.
Milwaukee was led by a balanced scoring attack, led by Brandon Knight who scored 20 points. OJ Mayo and Jared Dudley each chipped in with 19 a piece, picking up for an injured Jabari Parker.
Each team had spurts going on runs with both teams owning double-digit leads during the game.
Late in the fourth quarter however, the game would remain tight with neither team gaining an advantage.
With 6 seconds left and the score tied at 107, Demarcus Cosuins fouled Zaza Pachulia. The Bucks big man would go to the line and make one of two free throws setting up the Kings for a game winning shot attempt.
Sacramento got the ball to Cousins, but couldn’t get his shot to fall.
