The Houston Rockets planned to grab LaMarcus Aldridge this offseason, like most teams right? I mean if they grabbed Aldridge. You might have to put them no.1 on the pre-season power rankings right? I mean Harden, Howard and Aldridge bossing the court. That’s scary.
But since its not looking as if LaMarcus will go to Houston, the Rockets need to do what the New Orleans Pelicans have been doing and lock up a foundation. Cue Corey Brewer who has been an integral part of the franchise. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. Brewer has re-signed with the Rockets for 3 years, worth $24 Million.
Brewer had exploratory talks with the Los Angeles Lakers,Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks, but his goal had been to return to the Rockets.
After a midseason trade from Minnesota, Brewer anchored the bench on the Rockets’ run to the Western Conference finals.
Brewer is a good two-way player who can always produce whether he starts or comes off the bench. He will add to a great foundation that the Rockets already have. They really just need LaMarcus Aldridge and I genuinely think they’re there. You cannot tell me that with Aldridge that they couldn’t win the title first year. But everything I’m saying here is probably make believe so you can discount all of this. Oh and James Harden needs to actually be a factor in the Playoffs. There’s that too. That you can take seriously.
