Led by Republican Congressman James Comer of Kentucky, the House Oversight and Accountability Committee is digging deeper into the actions of former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, during Obama administration. Most recently, the Comer-led committee released reports alleging that Hunter Biden and his associates received nearly $20 million from oligarchs in Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine while his father served as Vice President. Reports from the committee also allege that Biden dined with two of the oligarchs in question. With the public and the media sorting through the reports, Comer says he’s looking to subpoena members of the Biden family.
“This is always going to end with the Bidens coming in front of the committee. We are going to subpoena the family,” Comer said.
“We know that this is going to end up in court when we subpoena the Bidens. So we’re putting together a case, and I think we’ve done that very well. We’ve shown the bank records.”
Comer has his sights set on subpoenaing the President and members of his family, but he says that he does not plan to do so immediately.
“We want to talk to about three or four more associates first,” Comer explained.
“We’ve been communicating with a couple of them. We’re trying to bring them in just like we did [former Hunter Biden business partner] Devon Archer for a transcribed interview. If they don’t come in voluntarily, then they’ll be subpoenaed.”
