It’s the thought that counts, right? Cody Zeller’s mom was trying to be loving and generous, but in attempting to get Cody a birthday present, she made one mistake which led the Hornets forward to call her out on twitter.

Ouch, mom forgetting the day you were born, that’s got to be rough. Hey, at least she got the month right and was only off by a couple of days. Her heart was in the right place, just maybe not her train of thought who knows.
What I want to know is how did Cody get access to the email his mom sent? His mom was trying to be nice and give him a surprise belated birthday present, but clearly somebody wanted to spoil that, even if it was going to be late.
Cody Zeller just can’t catch a break these days. There’s the botched phone call with Michael Jordan, his team wanting to trade him, and with the Hornets drafting Frank Kaminski, playing time maybe hard to come by.
