Head Coach Tad Boyle and the Colorado Buffaloes have landed the commitment of 2023 top 25 recruit and top five small forward Cody Williams. He is the highest-rated recruit and the first five-star prospect to commit to Colorado in the modern recruiting era. Williams could be a “one and done” prospect but will need a good freshman season to earn that right. He committed to the Colorado Buffaloes over the LSU Tigers, USC Trojans, and Arizona Wildcats. This is a massive pickup for a program trying to regain some momentum in the PAC-12 moving forward.
Five-star wing Cody Williams has committed to Colorado, becoming the Buffaloes’ first five-star recruit since the ESPN recruiting database began in 2007. Also the first five-star of the Tad Boyle era. Huge pickup for Colorado. One of the highest ceilings in the 2023 class.

Tad Boyle is an excellent Head Coach and he will get the best out of Cody Williams during his time with the Colorado Buffaloes. He is the second 2023 recruit to commit to Colorado joining three-star shooting guard Courtney Anderson. Williams will be playing in the NBA one day and feels that playing under Boyle and Colorado is his best option for getting ready for the league. He could even be a “one and done” prospect for the program if he enters the 2024 NBA Draft.

The Colorado Buffaloes program has had its ups and downs in the PAC-12. Adding a five-star prospect like Cody Williams is huge for the program. With UCLA and USC leaving the PAC-12 eventually a new program will need to step up and become a top team. Colorado could look to fill that void down the road and this is a good start.
