This game was relatively boring. You might think I’m crazy considering one of the teams playing were the Los Angeles Clippers. But it really was a slow game. It only got interesting in the last five minutes but even that got slowed down to a snail pace because the referees spent eons replaying a out of bounds call.
Before I go into the game and the key performances. Does the replay center in New York actually do anything or is it like the Wolf of Wall Street over there? I went to get a cup of tea and they were still reviewing the call.
With my mini rant over, let’s get into the game. If it wasn’t for the LA 2nd unit lead by Spencer Hawes (team high 17 points), Sacramento would’ve bossed this game. All of the Clippers starters ended up with negative efficiency, how Chris Paul got 16 and 11 is beyond me. He didn’t stick out at all in this game. That was probably the most quiet double double I’ve seen in some time.
The Sacramento Kings won this because of DeMarcus Cousins. The guy is an out and out tank. You watch him and scratch your head as to how the hell we wasn’t an All-Star last season. 34 points, 17 rebounds and 3 blocks. He made DeAndre Jordan look small tonight. I’m not kidding. He led this team as he always does and they managed to win the game even though the Kings gave away 6 turnovers in the 4th quarter alone.
And I would like to formally apologise to Darren Collison. I said he wasn’t better than Isaiah Thomas (I still stick by that). But tonight he haunted his old team. 4 of his 14 points came in the dying minutes of the game and it turns out those were the daggers to the Clippers chances of winning this game.
Hang about. I’m still not done with you Clippers. The way you blew this game really spoke to me. Considering you haven’t won any of your games comfortably was something. But the fact that you allowed a Sacramento Kings team that doesn’t look all that on paper. To turnover six times in the 4th but also win the game. That’s the definition of “blowing it”.
Los Angeles Clippers. You better step it up. Can’t slip up in the Western Conference. You could be 1st one week and 6th the next.
