Robinson’s health might play a factor in signing with the Clippers for the rest of the season.
Nate Robinson‘s second 10-day contract has expired, and the Los Angeles Clippers have to make a decision about re-signing him. After a player’s second 10-day contract, a team has to sign that player for the remainder of the season if they still require his services.
The Clippers aren’t jumping the gun on Robinson just yet.

Guard Nate Robinson sat out Wednesday’s game at New York with a sore left knee, his second 10-day contract expires today (Thursday) and he will not be re-signed just yet because of the injury, a league spokesman said.
The spokesman said the Clippers will see how Robinson’s knee is recovering before making a decision on whether to bring him back for the rest of the season.
Robinson’s potential knee issue is especially relevant because the Clippers are without Jamal Crawford (calf) for the foreseeable future. Having Robinson as a bench spark to supplement Crawford’s absence could be a needed boost, but not if he’s also injured.
That role for the Clippers is important, especially going into the postseason. Robinson’s knee could be the determining factor as to whether or not he’ll be offered the chance to fill that void for Doc Rivers.
