The Clippers have been seeking a first-round draft pick, financial flexibility and young players in return for Jordan, according to the executives.
It sounds like they’re looking for a similar haul to the one they got in return for Blake Griffin.
Jordan’s value is probably lower than Griffin’s, however. Griffin is flat-out better, though his injury issues are of course a concern. Plus, Griffin is under contract, while Jordan will hit free agency this summer.
Jordan would be a good fit in Portland. The Blazers’ current center, Jusuf Nurkic, is fine but has had an uninspiring season. Jordan’s the better player.
Jordan is the more impactful player between the two. He’s a better defender and a better target for lobs. Nurkic’s only advantage is his offensive versatility – he’s more creative on the block. Even that, though, might not necessarily be true this season. Nurkic is shooting just 38.1 percent when posting up this season.
