Anderson, 33, is a strong guard/forward at 6-foot-6, 220 pounds. The Clippers will be his fifth NBA team in his seven-year career, which started after playing in European leagues for four years after going undrafted out of Michigan State in 2005. Anderson signed a mid-level exception with the Washington Wizards last summer, but only played 13 games due to ankle and groin issues. He played for Brooklyn, Toronto, and Charlotte before that, with a career average of 7.8 points per game on 40.6 percent shooting.
Signing Anderson rounds out the Clippers’ 15-man roster for the 2016-17 season while they still await a final decision from Paul Pierce. Anderson joins Raymond Felton, Marrese Speights, and Brandon Bass as veteran free agent additions for the Clippers this offseason. He makes for another option in wing depth at the off guard slot and brings a different presence than J.J. Redick. Other reserves for the Clippers include Luc Mbah a Moute and Wesley Johnson.
