With the recent opt outs of LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, you know that the Clippers will be snooping around looking to see if they have a chance.
But according to Ramona Shelbourne of ESPN LA the Clippers will consider any deals that have the name “Blake Griffin” in it…
sources told ESPN that Clippers president and coach Doc Rivers has told Griffin on numerous occasions that he considers him “untouchable” in any trade.
So does that mean Chris Paul isn’t? I don’t really get that.
The Clips are known for having one of the most efficient benches in the league. Turns out, if they want LeBron and Melo, that bench would have to go take a hike.
The Clippers have a similar interest in Anthony, who is close with both Paul and Griffin, but it would be too difficult to clear enough salary cap space to pursue both James and Anthony in tandem.
Safe to say they will have to have the fire sale of the decade to land Melo and LeBron.
