As the Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers continue to fight off the injury bug that both teams are facing, they are looking for some help at the 3 position as both teams have underwhelmed at that position.
Those 2 teams seem to be interested in one veteran small forward though, a guy who has championship pedigree and could immediately come in to help the team, Boston Celtics forward, Tayshaun Prince.
Following from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
As a free agent, Prince could become the most coveted player on the market this month – with the Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers promising to be strong contenders, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Prince is a native of Los Angeles.
Prince, 34, is still capable of delivering solid minutes off the bench for a contender. The balance of his $7.7 million expiring deal makes it hard for Boston to find short-term expiring contracts in return for Prince.
The Clippers have tried to scrape the market for anything they can get to secure some help on the wing. They haven’t been able to find anything worth their while and now they will try to make a deal with a possible soon to be free agent who will be interested in winning with them this season.
Blazers on the other hand need to try to convince LaMarcus Aldridge in the long-run that he will want to stick around and that the team is serious about winning. They have some assets, nothing too intriguing besides Thomas Robinson, Meyers Leonard and C.J. McCollum.
It looks like Prince will hit the free agent market though and the first team to make a move will be the one to secure a guy who has no problem defending the leagues best players. The only issue is, Prince is far from the man he was 10 years ago with those championship Detroit Pistons.
