Former Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush will not attend the inaugural brunch ushering in Donald Trump as the 47th U.S. President on Monday, January 20, 2025. According to multiple reports, Obama and Clinton received a decision and elected not to attend while representatives for George W. Bush said it was not tracking an invitation to the luncheon.
Held hours after a President is sworn into office, the inaugural brunch is often one of the only events in which all living U.S. Presidents gather together. With that said, President-Elect Donald Trump did not attend the event in 2021 when President Joe Biden was sworn into office.
Still, Obama, Clinton and Bush are expected to attend the Inauguration of the Florida resident. However, former First Lady Michelle Obama and more than a dozen notable political figures will not be in attendance, including former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
Similarly, the inauguration is also one of the few moments in time when all living Presidents and First Ladies gather together. However, President-Elect Donald Trump was not present when President Joe Biden was sworn into office in 2021.
The Inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump is scheduled to begin at approximately 12 p.m. EST at the Capitol Rotunda on Monday, January 20, 2025.
