Portland Trail Blazers great, Cliff Robinson, has been hospitalized and will undergo rehabilitation according to a personal statement he sent out on the Trail Blazers website.
“I want Trail Blazers fans and friends to know I’m doing well and in the process of getting better. My family and I appreciate the prayers and well-wishes for my recovery. I had an unfortunate incident with a minor brain hemorrhage which means I’ll be in rehabilitation for a while. But I’m excited about trying to get past this speed bump. I’m improving every day.”
Robinson had his best statistical season with the Trail Blazers in 1995 where he averaged 21.3 points per game 5.6 rebounds 2.6 assists on 45.2% shooting and 37.1% from three-point range. In one of the more interesting statistics, he did not shoot more than .9 three’s per game until 1995 where he attempted 5.1 a game. The one-time All-Star had most of his best seasons in Portland where he collected a Sixth man of the year award. He is also fourth in points scored, fifth in minutes played and sixth in three-pointers in Portland.
He appears optimistic about a speedy recovery which is good news considering the severity of a brain injury. He most recently was in the headlines for opening a marijuana business in 2015.
