When you have a transcendent player like LeBron James, you can’t play him every day. I can already hear the old basketball fans whining about players being rested. Get over it. It’s the way the world works now. If you don’t want them to rest go play NBA2K.
Anyways, according to ESPN.com, the Cavs will rest LeBron James From time to time. Just for precautionary reasons.
Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt said Friday he is open to the idea of resting LeBron James at times during the season to keep the star forward fresh for a postseason run.
James sat out the morning practice session of Cleveland’s two-a-day Friday in order to rest his back. Earlier this week, James described his back as feeling “iffy” and only played in two out of three periods during the Cavs’ intrasquad scrimmage Wednesday.
If his back is “iffy” then that has to be sort sorted straight away. If you’re going to rest him. Then preseason is the perfect time to do it.
