It’s finally here. The NBA has announced the official 2015-16 NBA schedule and we are one step closer to the start of the next season of basketball. The summer is just about over, teams have made all the important moves for next season and everyone is clamoring for things to talk about leading up to tip-off of game number one.
For the Cleveland Cavaliers, all reports indicate that they will be opening their season against their division rivals, the Chicago Bulls. The Cavs and Bulls had a great series in the playoffs which had some amazing moments. LeBron James and Derrick Rose exchanged game-winning shots, Jimmy Butler showed off his talents on both sides of the court for the world to enjoy and the first big Matthew Dellavedova game happened in their series. The NBA definitely picked a good game to start off the season.
In the NBA Finals, the Cavs squared off with the Warriors in a contest that was once in Cleveland’s favor. Although LeBron James had a stellar final series, he was missing Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love and the supporting cast wasn’t able to keep up with the Warriors. At the end of the day, the Warriors pulled off the win and walked away with the NBA Championship. The NBA decided to set these two teams up against each other, with hopefully full and healthy rosters, to play on Christmas Day.
Tristan Thompson and J.R. Smith have not officially returned yet and the team has yet to do anything with their newly made trade exception but the Cavs are still expected to be a title contender going into the 2015-16 season.
