Players, fans, and staffers grew immensely disappointed when news struck on March 6th that the scheduled Blazers-Wolves game at Target Center would not be played due to slick floors.
The floors at Target Center were wet due to humidity, according to the Timberwolves. The game was simply unplayable, as players would be risking injury by playing on such a slippery floor.
Other reports suggested an ice show that happened one day prior to the game had an effect, as well.
Players attended shootaround without any issues, but as they took the court to warm up that night, they began expressing their concern to team officials. Patient fans waited for roughly one hour before hearing the league’s final decision on whether the game would be played.
The announcement struck just 15 minutes before tip-off, and players began packing up.
Blazers guard CJ McCollum had an interesting opinion on the matter:
.@CJMcCollum says the T-wolves should take an automatic loss for not having the court ready earlier this week.

CJ McCollum’s stance on the matter seems to be a tad excessive, as the Timberwolves players had nothing to do with the game being cancelled.
The game was ultimately rescheduled for April 3rd, and those that purchased tickets were directed to a website for further info.
Portland (28-36) and Minnesota (27-38) are both locked into a tight race out West for the 8th seed. They will meet two more times before the season comes to a close.
