Chucky is by far one of the most iconic characters within the horror genre. Striking fear, but also bringing lots of laughter (intentionally or unintentionally) to multiple generations of people. The killer doll with the signature red locks has been M.I.A. since 2013’s ‘Curse of Chucky‘. The ‘Curse of Chucky’ was met with surprisingly favourable reviews registering an 81% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The ‘Cult of Chucky’ is the next film in the franchise and is brought to us by the same team that gave us the ‘Curse of Chucky’ in 2013. If the trailer is to be trusted, this movie is going to be absolutely crazy. Chucky yields his signature butcher knife but also manages to get his tiny hands on a drill of some kind which to me is ten times as terrifying. The trailer continues on to reveal that this film will feature not one, but TWO Chucky’s. While this film certainly doesn’t look like the next ‘Citizen Kane’ it does look like the perfect movie to watch at home, late at night around Halloween.
The ‘Cult of Chucky’ is due out on VOD in October of this year.
