Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich has hit for the cycle for the second time this year. Not only is it the second time he has hit for the cycle in 2018, but both times he has done it has been against the Cincinnati Reds. Yelich has become the first player in MLB history to accomplish this feat of two cycles against the same team in the same season.

This offseason the Brewers acquired Christian Yelich from the Miami Marlins and since then he has put up incredible numbers. Yelich is going to be in the running to win National League MVP this year because of his numbers. Yelich is hitting .313 with 30 home runs and 89 RBI’s for the Brewers in 2018. The Brewers are looking to make a postseason run, hoping Yelich can keep up the solid numbers.
Yelich is the third player in the modern era to hit for the cycle twice in the same season. He joins Babe Ruth, and Aaron Hill as one of these three players. Also, this is Yelich’s second cycle in under a month, since his first cycle was completed on August 29th. Yelich and Mookie Betts of the Boston Red Sox are the only two players to hit for the cycle this year, there have been three total cycles in 2018.
