The Los Angeles Clippers have been doing all right without Blake Griffin. They’re 4th in the Western Conference and are within reach of 3rd seed Oklahoma City Thunder who have been lashed recently because of their lack to close games in the 4th quarter.
Most of their work has been done without Blake Griffin but Chris Paul knows that if they really want a ring, it has to be done with Blake Griffin.
Asked about his statistical spike the last two months with Griffin sidelined (partially torn quadriceps and a fractured right hand), plus the play of DeAndre Jordan, and Paul said, “We can’t win a championship without Blake. That’s the only reason we play.”
Paul was asked if he is concerned about Griffin returning too close to the playoffs, without enough time for the Clippers to find a rhythm, and he said, “I don’t care if he gets back the day before the playoffs. We’re playing for a championship and there’s no championship without Blake Griffin. There’s not one.”
I agree that they need all they have to just get to the Western Conference Finals, let alone getting a ring. I personally think it doesn’t matter whether Griffin is there or not. They have had this team for years and have consistently flopped where it counts. Now how are they going to do it now when one of their star players have been out for months on end?
