Chris Paul is 30 years old and approaching the end of his prime. While he still has a long way to go before he hangs them up, he is already talking about retirement, namely the fact that he wants to finish his career in Los Angeles as a member of the Clippers. The following is from Dan Woike of the OC Register:
He’s supremely confident in his place with the Clippers, the franchise where he says he wants to finish his career.
“Hell, I never imagined I’d leave New Orleans, but there’s no question this is where I want to be,” he said. “I want to win. Here.”
Clippers fans must feel great that their star point guard is adamant that he wants to retire as a Clipper. Paul, who is set to be a free agent in 2018, seems to have found a second home in the NBA where he will be contending every year. However, as competitive as Paul is, it seems at least possible that he could make his way to another team, whether through free agency or trade, to finally win a championship. For now, the superstar is clear in maintaining that he will be a Clipper for the rest of his basketball life.
