On Thursday, May 15, at approximately 2 a.m., police reportedly arrested Chris Brown at a hotel in Manchester, UK.
Brown’s arrest is connected to an alleged assault at a nightclub in London on February 19, 2023. Producer Abe Diaw reportedly accused Brown of hitting him in the head with a bottle and kicking him as he lay on the floor.
Brown appeared in Manchester Magistrates’ Court and is expected to remain in custody until his next hearing at Southwark Crown Court on June 13, 2025. He is charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and faces up to 16 years in prison if convicted.
Brown’s arrest occurred less than one month before his Breezy Bowl XX Tour is set to begin. Beginning June 8 in Amsterdam, Brown is scheduled to perform in more than three dozen cities with support from Bryson Tiller, Jhene Aiko, and Summer Walker. With Brown expected to be held in custody until mid-June, it is unclear if dates on his upcoming tour will be rescheduled or canceled entirely.
