There were reports circulating the internet that Chris Brown was going to make his first TV appearance on Larry King Live tonight following his court appearance this afternoon. But Hollyscoop can confirm that Chris is not scheduled to be on today’s show.
Sources close to Chris’ and Larry King’s camp tell Hollyscoop exclusively that “Chris won’t be on Larry King tonight, but there is a possibility he may be on later this week.”
Chris gained some sympathy from fans after he posted a YouTube video apologizing for the attack. In the video, he says, “I wish I had the opportunity to live those few moments again, but unfortunately I can’t. I cannot go into what happened, and most importantly I’m going to sit here and make any excuses.”
He continued, “I am very sad and very ashamed at what I’ve done. My mother and my spiritual teachers have taught me way better than that.”
Chris also said that he has spoken with Rihanna about the incident, and has offered his apologies. He says in the video, “I have told Rihanna countless times and I’m telling you today that I am truly truly sorry and that I wasn’t able to handle the situation both differently and better.”
Meanwhile, Hollyscoop can also confirm that Rihanna won’t be in court today for Chris’ follow up appearance. Despite what other outlets were reporting, there will be no changes to his restraining order.
Her attorney Donald Etra said in an exclusive statement to Hollyscoop, “A level one order is sufficient for my client. The order will require Chris to not molest, annoy, or harass Rihanna. Since the inception of the case, we’ve always believed that that’s the only order required.”
Do you think a TV apology will help with his public image? Larry King is definitely a great place to gain the sympathy. He’s usually nice to guests who are there to do some damage control. Tell us your thoughts!
