Chris Brown has been hit with criminal charges over his pet.
Chris Brown could be facing up to six months in jail for owning a pet monkey without a permit.
According to TMZ, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office has charged Brown with two counts of having a restricted species without a permit. The violations carry a maximum of six months behind bars.
The baby capuchin monkey named Fiji, is no longer in the singer’s possession. Brown voluntarily gave up the animal to authorities. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife reportedly launched the investigation, after several people notified them about the monkey.
