Everyone is wondering what Chip Kelly’s next move will be. After Steve Sarkisian left Alabama to become the next offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons, many people suggested that he could land in Tuscaloosa to run Nick Saban’s offense. According to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, Kelly is not interested in any collegiate job as he is hoping to remain in the NFL as a play-caller.
With Kelly out of the picture, Nick Saban has some work to do in finding a new play-caller. He just lost two offensive coordinators in the same season. Lane Kiffin became the Florida Atlantic head coach this year.
Kelly was a candidate for the Falcons job after Kyle Shanahan left to become the head coach of the 49ers. He also interviewed for the Jaguars job but he didn’t land that one either. Currently, every offensive coordinator job is filled as of now so it’s tough to find a home for him at this moment.
My best guess is that he either sits out for the 2017 season or he latches on with New England as some kind of consultant.
