Chicago police have released video footage of Jussie Smollett’s alleged staged attack. According to ABC 7 Chicago, police have released “nearly 70 hours of video, all connected to the Smollett case.”
The footage includes police body cam video which shows the cops arriving at the Empire actor’s apartment with his manager. His manager, whose face is blurred out, tells cops in an elevator before arriving at the apartment,
“He doesn’t want this to be a big deal, you understand what I’m saying. The thing that makes me emotional is they put this makeshift loop, what do you call that thing, a noose around his (expletive) neck.”
In the video, Jussie Smollett, whose face is blurred, can be seen with a rope noose around his neck. Smollett tells police that, “two attackers doused him with bleach and put the noose over his head.”
Police ask Smollett if he wants to take off the noose and notify him that he is being filmed by a police body camera. The actor asks the police to turn off the camera and the comply.
Jussie Smollett claimed that he was the victim of a racial and homophobic attack back in January. All 16 felony counts against Smollett for lying to police were dropped. He now, however, could be prosecuted for allegedly faking the attack.
