To me and most people. This was the game to circle on the calendar. We see the third banner rise, the ring presentation, the 3D look back of the Finals! (That was a personal favourite) and of course #TheReturn. But as I’ve said in the title, it was the return back to reality.
The Heat in this game brought the man of the hour Derrick Rose, back down to reality with 7 players in double-figures… James (17), Bosh (16), Battier (14), Chalmers (13), Wade (13), Cole (11) and Allen (11).
The Heat were off the blocks faster. A 19 point lead at halftime. It was on lock (to me) by the end of the 3rd quarter.
Rose’s return included 12 points but also 5 turnover’s. amusingly twitter exploded every time Chalmers picked him or when Norris Cole broke his ankles! (Calm down I mean it figuratively he’s fine). Shout out to Carlos Boozer with 31 points and 7 rebounds, crazy game.
This for sure wasn’t the return everyone was hoping for (unless your a Heat fan) and Miami were more ready.
But a nice moment was D Rose’s first basket back into the league…
But this is only one game and it’s very obvious Rose has some Regular Season rust.
Now if you watch/listen to First Take you’d know that Stephen A Smith said this afternoon that if he’s healthy…
Derrick Rose will be league MVP.
We’ll see about that. To me it’s Lebron 1, D Rose 0.
