Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken has unveiled its first trailer.
The film, which stars Jack O’Connell, chronicles the life of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who enlisted in the US Army Air Forces during World War II.
In 1943, his plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean, leaving him and two other survivors without food or water for 47 days.
Zamperini washed ashore and was taken into a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp at ?funa where he remained until the war ended in 1945.
Zamperini’s story was turned into a best-selling book by Laura Hillenbrand titled Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption. He passed away earlier this month at the age of 97.
Joel Coen, Ethan Coen, Richard LaGravenese and William Nicholson wrote the big screen adaptation, which will be Jolie’s second directorial outing after In the Land of Blood and Honey.
Domhnall Gleeson, Jai Courtney and Garrett Hedlund are among the supporting cast for the film.
Unbroken will be released in cinemas this December.
