Two teams we’ve seen become very aggressive a day before the NBA draft have agreed to yet another trade.
The Charlotte Hornets and Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to swap guard Jeremy Lamb for Matt Barnes.
The Hornets remain active by acquiring the once promising guard Jeremy Lamb who has not lived up to his 12th overall selection back in 2012. Last season Lamb averaged 6 points in 47 games which he does play on a team that has Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, but Durant sat out most of the year and Lamb never really found his role in the rotation.
For the Thunder it’s uncertain if they’ll keep the veteran Matt Barnes, but if they do he obviously can provide the team with experience off the bench. Barnes more than likely will be released though with his contract becoming fully guaranteed at $3.5 million after July 1st.
The Thunder have to attempt to re-sign center Enes Kanter and restricted free agent Kyle Singler, and having Barnes contract jump to $3.5 million next season may get in the way of that.
After the Thunder traded for Enes Kanter at last years trade deadline, Kanter averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds per game which he helped Oklahoma City make a playoff push.
Jeremy Lamb joins a Hornets team that is among the most active before the draft after acquiring Nicolas Batum on Wednesday night.
Will this be the last moves Charlotte makes before the draft? Or could the Hornets be in for an overhaul to shake things up?
