According to Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski, The Hornets have expressed interest in using free-agent guard Mo Williams in a sign-and-trade deal. Williams has also already been linked to both the Memphis Grizzlies and Cleveland Cavaliers in the early days of free agency, and was rumored to be nearing a deal with the Grizzlies earlier this week that hasn’t gone anywhere so far. However, he really would be a great solid backup scoring guard off the bench for any team who picks him up.

Mo William’s years around the league almost certainly have earned him a reputation as a great locker room presence, and his play on the court is still at a high enough level that teams have no problem bringing him on to strengthen their point guard depth.
What’s also important to note is that this still hasn’t ruled out the chances of Williams returning to the Hornets next season. Truth is, if he’s unhappy with what he’s being offered elsewhere, and there’s mutual interest between him and Charlotte, then a return is not entirely out of the question.
The 32-year-old averaged 14.2 points, his highest scoring average in five years, 6.2 assists, and 2.6 rebounds in 68 games. He also posted a career-high assist percentage of 37.4, although his effective field goal percentage of 46.6 was certainly a concern.
