The Charlotte Hornets are seeking wing players in return for Cody Zeller according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. And if the Hornets succeed in trading away Zeller, Frank Kaminsky could be a serious candidate in the draft at No. 9. From what we have been able to see at the college level, Frank Kaminsky is not a bad player, stretch 4’s have become a valuable commodity in todays NBA game, and picking him up at the No. 9 spot in the draft looks like a steal for the Hornets.
Y! Sources: Charlotte’s shopping Cody Zeller hard for wing players. If Zeller gets moved, Frank Kaminsky will be serious candidate at No. 9.

Frank Kaminsky worked out for Indiana, Detroit, Sac, Miami, Phx and Knicks. Not Charlotte. But doesn’t matter. Hornets like him a lot.

As Wojnarowski mentions, considering Zeller is a career 35.3 percent shooter from mid-range, according to Basketball-Reference.com, replacing him with the rangier Frank Kaminsky makes loads of sense.
History does show that Michael Jordan does have some sort of infatuation with nonathletic guys who can shoot and athletic guys who can’t, which is a little concerning. However, quite a few mock drafts peg the Hornets to target a wing who can stretch the floor with his shooting, so it’s not a shock to learn that Charlotte is actively looking to upgrade at that spot.
Zeller underwent surgery back in April to repair damage to his right shoulder, and is expected to be able to resume basketball activities in July. The 22-year-old appeared in 62 contests for Charlotte this season, averaging 7.6 points and 5.8 rebounds in 24.0 minutes per game. His career numbers are 6.7 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 1.3 APG, with a slash line of .443/.500/.750.
