Charlie Villaneuva will return to the Dallas Mavericks. After receiving interests from teams like New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers. The Mavericks need some backup’s after essentially having all of their players as free agents in some way.
According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN:
I’m told Mavs have agreed to a deal with Charlie Villanueva to bring him back for the veteran’s minimum.

Now that Villaneuva is in the books, the Mavericks will shift their focus back to find a starting PG. The most desperate role on their roster. As of now, J.J Barea and Devin Harris are set to be the PG’s, but that won’t do for a team that has to feed Dirk Nowitzki and DeAndre Jordan in the post. Rondo is probably second guessing his decision with the team he is on now. Jeremy Lin has been mentioned, but a sign-and-trade would be the best option for them and the Lakers. What about Deron Williams? His time in Brooklyn is limited and Dallas has wanted him since he’s been in Utah. Williams would be the perfect guard that can create his own shots while trying to find other players on the court. Could Brooklyn and Dallas come to an agreement soon?
