Netflix is bringer another thriller to their streaming service and it isn’t a Stephen King book. This time it will be an adaptation of Ian Reid’s ‘I’m Thinking Of Ending Things’ and they’ve booked Charlie Kaufman as the director. Kaufman, who is most known for his writing on ‘Being John Malkovich’ hasn’t sat in the directors chair since 2015, when he directed ‘Anomalisa’. Now he will take charge to bring to life this gripping thriller.
To give you a better idea of what ‘I’m Thinking of Ending Things’ is about, check out the summary of the story (Via Google Books):
In this deeply scary and intensely unnerving debut novel, Jake and a woman known only as The Girlfriend are on a drive to visit his parents at their secluded farm. But when Jake leaves The Girlfriend stranded at an abandoned high school, what follows is a twisted unravelling of the darkest unease, an exploration into psychological frailty and an ending as suspenseful as The Usual Suspects and as haunting as any Stephen King novel. Written with the spare yet haunting prose so effective in the novels of Jos Saramago and Michel Faber.
There is no release date set for the movie just yet but with the way that Netflix is rolling out their thriller movies you can bet that they’re putting this at the top of their list. Kaufman will also be writing the script to the movie, while Anthony Bregman (whose worked with Kaufman before) will produce the film.
