Carmelo Anthony is an interesting player. He has managed to collect a lot of hate over the years. A countless amount of people just love to put Melo down. I’m not going to lie I enjoy exposing Melo now and again. But understand he just throws the Alley-oop and I just dunk it home. Like all that Chicago stuff. That’s too funny not to slate!
Charles Oakley. Noted Knicks alum and overall badass has been watching Carmelo. And he’s not the biggest fan of the superstar. In fact. He questions whether Carmelo is even a superstar.
“Is he still a superstar or is he going to be a complimentary player?” the 51-year-old Oakley said Tuesday during BTIG Charity Day on the East Side. “You win [17] games, I don’t know. He made the All-Star game. He played on the All-Star team, but he didn’t play during the season.”
When told Anthony makes superstar money, Oakley scoffed.
“I didn’t give him the contract,” Oakley said. “He won a championship at Syracuse. What’s the potential? They give a lot of people $100 million.”
This also backs up my reason for why the one and done should be exactly that. Done.
Winning a National Championship does not mean that you’ll get the NBA Championship. Neither does a $100 Million contract.
