Charles Barkley is definitely a personality. His sometimes senseless rants and humorous mistakes make him the personality he is and he realizes that, and for that reason he will not be active on social media. No Instagram, no Facebook, and especially no Twitter. Barkley hates Twitter so much, he reportedly turned down $3 million to join Twitter. According to Barkley himsself when he joined the Dan Le Batard Show:
“I’ve had some knock-down, drag-outs with my employers about social media, and I’ve been offered as much as $3 million to do tweets. I said, ‘y’all can’t pay me enough to tweet.’ “
“I will never tweet. I will never do Instagram or any type of social media. Most people are great, I believe, but there are some evil people that sit behind a computer and feel like they can say anything to anybody.”
Barkley does have a point in this, some people are down right savage on the internet. But $3 million to tweet? Sir Charles Barkley must have his finances right. It would be funny seeing Barkley rant on Twitter, but we can’t all get what we want.
