The Phoenix Suns Power Forward Channing Frye opted out of his contract over the weekend according to Marc Stein of ESPN. Two teams early on that have interest are The Cleveland Cavaliers and The Golden State Warriors. The Cavaliers look determined this off season to add some outside shooters, and that’s Frye’s biggest strength since 2009-2010 when he shot 43% from outside the arc. Frye was a big part of The Phoenix Suns success this year and played in all 82 games this season while shooting 37% from beyond the arc.
This isn’t the first rumored jump shooter Cleveland has been rumored to be after so I’m assuming this will be a trend for the off season for Cleveland. Frye is a free agent they can sign no problem without hindering their cap space as well, so this rumor isn’t too far fetched.
