If you don’t know about the DeAndre Jordan/Chandler Parsons/Mark Cuban/Doc Rivers saga, welcome back from a very long vacation or welcome back from your time spent under a large rock.
The situation between the respective sides of both the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks has become very much a ‘he said/she said’ scenario. Both sides have said their piece but for one reason or another, this just won’t die even though DeAndre has already made his decision to join the Los Angeles Clippers.
It doesn’t help that we now know what went on the first time both DeAndre Jordan and Chandler Parsons saw each other after the situation happened at Team USA Camp.
Following from Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports.
“We had Mavs gear shipped to DeAndre for the season,” Parsons tells Yahoo. “We picked out his locker. We picked out where he was going to sit on the team bus and plane. We picked out his No. 6 jersey. We narrowed down which home he would buy in Dallas, talked about restaurants here.
“I think I’ve earned the right to speak freely about the Mavs and our future. There was no way DJ was going to come unless I presented our pitch. It’s not like I was gassing him up and lying. Everything he was saying that he wanted, we were going to give to him. Everything: the opportunity to get the ball more, to be an MVP candidate, to be the man and take the next step in his career.
“It’s not like I was just making this [expletive] up. He’s still a friend. But when I saw him in Las Vegas for Team USA, all I could really say was, ‘Are you [expletive] serious?’ “
Hopefully now this situation is all over. For some reason, Mark Cuban and Doc Rivers are still throwing shots at each other but the players have all but stopped talking about it for the most part.
It’s a dead issue, until the two face each other on October 29th in Los Angeles or November 11th in Dallas.
