
Grammy award winning artist, philanthropist and activist Chance The Rapper is in negotiations to join the cast of an upcoming Sesame Street movie.
The live action film from Warner Bros. and MGM will be led by Anne Hathway. Behind the scenes, Portlandia‘s Jonathan Krisel will direct the project while Shawn Levy and Michael Aguilar will produce it. Meanwhile, Eighth Grade director Bo Burnham will contribute music for the film. It’s unclear if Chance The Rapper is in negotiations to add his musical expertise as well.
Prior to the Sesame Street film, Chance The Rapper appeared in the horror film, Slice. Also, he appeared as himself in Netflix’s Between Two Ferns. Most recently, the Chicago native signed on to host the reboot of the popular show, Punk’d.
The new Sesame Street film will debut on January 15, 2021. More details will be added to this report as this story develops.
