2020 is off to an excellent start. Thus far, Summer Walker has teamed up with Usher for a new video, D Smoke has been in the studio with Snoop Dogg and The Weeknd has hinted at a new album. Adding to the exciting news in music, Chad Hugo has offered some updates about the future of The Neptunes.
During an interview with Clash Music, the legendary producer told fans that the Neptunes had been working together more consistently recently. Better yet, he says they have been in the studio with everyone from Miley Cyrus to Jay-Z. To top it all off, he said they were hard at work on a video game soundtrack.
“I’m focussing on The Neptunes stuff, getting back on The Neptunes grind,” Hugo said.
“We’re doing a couple of things. There’s a video game soundtrack that’s in the works right now that I can’t speak about… We just did some work with Miley Cyrus, Jay-Z, Blink 182, Lil Uzi Vert, Brandy, Ray-J, Snoh Alegra, G-Eazy,” he added.
During the interview, Hugo also added that they had recorded a “couple of tracks” with Dua Lipa as well.
The legendary producer group last worked together on Justin Timberlake’s Man In The Woods back in 2018. We’ll see what the future holds for The Neptunes moving forward.
