The last time we saw Marcus Smart, he was grabbing his hand in pain in Las Vegas because he dislocated two fingers in a Summer League game on July 16. After diving for a loose ball, he jammed his fingers into the ground and let loose a few screams that could be heard through my TV monitor. The 20-year-old looked down at his fingers pointing in the wrong direction and initially feared a broken bone, but medical examination proved otherwise. He was expected to be back on court before September and now according to the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach, Marcus Smart is on schedule to return to the court soon;
Source says Marcus Smart, who dislocated 2 fingers last month, expected to be back on the court in about 2 weeks.

That reported timeline shows that second year guard Smart is progressing well according to the rehabilitation plan set up for him and it’s right on time because the Boston Celtics begin training camp in late-September.
In his rookie season, Smart averaged 7.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.5 steals in 27 minutes per game, while establishing himself as one of the best young perimeter defenders in the game. He also shot just 36.7 percent from the field.
