Don’t expect to see Avery Bradley return for Boston anytime before the new year according to Celtics coach Doc Rivers. The update on the defensive specialist guard as he rehabs from surgery to both shoulders in the off-season is that a January return is the most likely scenario, with Rivers stating that he is “not even close” to being able to return for Boston training camp which opens next week.
“[He’s] not even close,” Rivers said. “I don’t like to put a time limit on injuries, but I don’t think you’ll see him before December — and there’s a chance it could be closer to January.”
The Celtics will take their time with Bradley, comfortable knowing that they have some depth in the back-court after summer signings Jason Terry and Courtney Lee came on board to help spell Rajon Rondo.
