The Cleveland Cavaliers were very disappointed with their Game 3 loss to the Chicago Bulls. They lost to a Derrick Rose buzzer beater, in dramatic fashion, and won the series 2-1. LeBron James wasn’t going to let that happen and he didn’t let it. He had to do it infront of Kanye.
In the first half, the Chicago Bulls made basically every shot. Derrick Rose had 9 of the first 18 points for the Bulls and Jimmy Butler and Rose combined for 18 of their 28 first quarter points. In the second quarter, it was a completely different story. The Cavaliers dealt with a 10 point swing, and at one point they lead by as much as 7. LeBron James had a double-double before half.
In the second half, the Chicago Bulls came out with the much needed energy to go up by 11 to end the 3rd quarter. The 4th quarter is where things got interesting. The Bulls led by as much as 11, but LeBron James and J.R Smith went off (J.R Smith scored 11 points in 6 minutes). The Bulls were down 6 with 2 minutes left, Derrick Rose hit a 3 pointer, LeBron James was called for an offensive foul, and the Bulls had a chance to win tie the game. Derrick Rose tied the game after the call on LeBron. Then in one inbound possession, the Cavaliers wasted 3 time outs, and then LeBron James was called for a charge. At the end of it, nothing mattered except when there was 8 seconds left in the game and the game was tied, Cavaliers ball.
LeBron James inbound the ball, David Blatt tries to call the time out (which they didn’t have), but the referees didn’t see it. LeBron drives the ball but it was knocked out, and the time was at 0.8. Now the referees and the NBA needs to review this part. The referees needed to review how much time was left when LeBron got blocked (which was 1.5 after review). The Cavaliers get a free time out when they didn’t get it. That did not matter. LeBron James is there to rescue the team, and hits the game-winner.
After the game, LeBron James said this about the play, “I told them to find me, I was going to win this game for us”. LeBron acknowledged that he struggled shooting, but he knew he had to be the guy to shoot the shot.
