Kyrie Irving is set to capture the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award according to reports, an announcement that comes as no surprise really. The Cavaliers rookie – who will be formally announced as the winner by the NBA on Tuesday – averaged 18.5 points, 5.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 51 games. He has been a clear-cut favorite for the award since the All-Star break when he dominated each event he participated in.
Rookie of the Year is the last major individual award that has yet to be officially announced by the league office.
