LeBron James is now officially the Cavaliers leading player, GM and Coach. The KING of basketball seems to be taking over or helping with essentially anything the Cavaliers need. LeBron wakes up and does things as a leader that the Cavaliers don’t take for granted and his help is much appreciated, but can LeBron do everything, just so one city can win their first ever title? It’s not hard to see it happen. It would be a great day to see LeBron win a title for the desperate Cleveland Cavaliers, and in the Finals they were close. Bron was criticized for ‘belittling’ head coach David Blatt in the Finals, and it’s been shown that the team follows LeBron’s instructions, not Blatt. Now, he will be helping with free agency and off-season plans in order to better the Cavaliers roster so they can go from finalists to champions.
According to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com:
LeBron James hasn’t said anything to the Cavaliers about his contract situation, general manager David Griffin said early Friday morning.
“We’ve heard from him every day pretty much,” Griffin said, following the 2015 NBA Draft. “He’s very engaged.”
“He is not dark,” Griffin said. “It’s been great. He’s been very much engaged with us on a lot of different levels. It’s been positive.”
It’s kind of weird that David Blatt wouldn’t be the one being side-by-side with Cavs GM David Griffin trying to help build a roster he can coach. Realistically, LeBron has every right to do this and no one should be mad, at all. It’s LeBron’s team and it will be until he retires and what he says SHOULD go. Now that’s not saying that the Cavaliers will obey LeBron, but to a certain degree his opinion is more valid than Blatt’s. At the end of the day, LeBron knows what goes on, on the court, Blatt doesn’t.
