The Cleveland Cavaliers were able to retain all their free agents except J.R Smith and Tristan Thompson. They were able to re-sign LeBron James and Kevin Love. Love suffered a shoulder injury in the first round of the Playoffs against the Celtics which caused him to miss the NBA Finals. Despite the Finals not ending the way they wanted to, the Cavaliers are optimistic about next year. They were able to force the Warriors to 6 games with just LeBron James and Matthew Dellavedova. Now K. Love wants to go for round 2. With his injury, his return has been a question.
Cavs GM David Griffin has came to erase any questions about his health. According to Ethan Skolnick:
Kyrie Irving is rehabbing in Miami and David Griffin says Irving is on pace. Love & Varejao will be ready for start of camp

With Varejao and Love in the books, the Cavs front-line is pretty much finished. All they need to do is retain Tristan Thompson and J.R Smith and they will have the same team to go for another Finals appearance. Will we see the Cavs in the Finals again? Likely. No one in the East has been able to touch LeBron James and the East hasn’t gotten any stronger. The Spurs, Rockets, Clippers and Warriors will have something to say when the Cavaliers reach the Finals, but that is another story for another day.
