The Atlanta Hawks Game 1 loss was no reason to press the panic button despite DeMarre Carroll’s injury.
After Game 2 I think the Atlanta Hawks are pressing the panic button repeatedly.
The Cavaliers already without power forward Kevin Love would have another big injury in Kyrie Irving sitting out tonight’s game with a knee injury that’s being re-evaluated. LeBron James took complete control of the ball handling responsibility, and showed off his court vision.
LeBron James scored 30 points, 11 assists, and 9 rebounds in a total team win for The Cavs.
The Cavs at the end of the first quarter would have the lead 26-21 which things got physical towards the end of the first quarter as Pero Antic delivered a hard foul to LeBron James.
The Hawks tried to stay physical with The Cavs, but are simply at a mismatch due to the size of LeBron James.
Atlanta would match Cleveland’s second quarter with 28 points and after halftime The Cavaliers didn’t look back.
The Cavaliers defense kicked it up a notch only allowing 17 points to Cleveland’s 30 points in the quarter. The Hawks looked disgruntled and defeated after Cleveland’s big quarter with their key players Millsap, Korver, and Teague shooting a combined 31% from the field.
Korver did leave the game with a sprained ankle after Cavs Matthew Dellavedova unintentionally tumbled into his leg.
At one point in the game James seemed to be toying with The Hawks defense that had enough of tonight’s game.
The Cavaliers would finish off The Hawks 94-82 to take a 2-0 lead, and The Hawks will fight for their season on Sunday night in hopes of preventing a Cavs team that looks hot right now despite the injuries.
Tristan Thompson is playing like a man that’s hungry for a ring and a big payday in this years upcoming off-season. Thompson grabbed 16 rebounds and played excellent defense once again on Paul Millsap who is shooting 26% from the field in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Cavs guard Iman Shumpert would also provide the team with 16 points going 4/6 from beyond the arc.
The Cavs look to keep the foot on the gas as they return home on Sunday night after taking 2 games from the Atlanta Hawks. If the Hawks body language tonight was any indication of what Sunday’s game will be like they could be done for.
