Christmas Day is known for three things to most people: gifts, good food, and family. However to the average basketball fan it’s known as a day chock full of intense NBA action. The NBA is nearing its mid-point and action really begins to crank up. This year, the NBA has given us the best gift any basketball fan could ask for: a rematch of last years Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Following from ESPN’s Marc Stein:
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are tentatively scheduled to visit Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day, according to league sources.
Sources told ESPN.com that league plans to feature an NBA Finals rematch as a headliner of its annual Christmas Day slate but stressed that nothing is likely to be made official before next week, when the league ?is expected to release the new schedule in full.
This was a brilliant move by commissioner Adam Silver and the NBA. Christmas basketball is a signature of the NBA and it doesn’t get much better than having arguably the two best teams with the two best players square off. as we all know, Golden State took home the ring last year and LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers obviously want revenge. This should be an exciting, high scoring affair and maybe even a preview on next years NBA Finals as well.
